Cardiff/Bristol based band Cymbient formed around the prolific songwriting talents of former Derrero (John Peel Festive 50 favourites) singer, drummer and painter Andy Fung. Fusing traditional songs with more experimental musical performances at Art shows, the initial solo project has now evolved into a 5 piece band (with occasional sixth member Seb Goldfinch joining in on violin). Production of the band's debut album "the Drive Home" has recently been completed, and is the first release for the band's Surk Recording label. The album has already received airplay on Huw Stephens Radio 1 show and the band have done a session for Adam Walton at Radio Wales

Cymbient are currently planning a nation-wide tour to coincide with the official release of their new album in July 2005
