Doofer : Doofer

This debut album from the Cardiff Acoustic Massive has turned a few heads since its release. Recorded on analog tape inthe Vaults of an ancient castle it sounds like Dylan, Waits and Django jamming under a bananatree with a bottle of Mezcal. Classic!

After a twenty four month gestation period and a difficult birth, young Doofer was born feet first and screaming. It's lungs were made of iron, and it had a fist of brass, and a tongue so silver you could eat your dinner off it. After finishing their respective degrees in Marine Biology, Ancient History and woodwork, Chris, Mark and Andre conceived Doofer after a chance meeting in the student's Union Bar.Forty large Gin and Tonics and fourteen pints of lager later, they unplugged their Cherry Sunburst Gibson Les Paul's (with Marshall stacks) and decided to explore their Acoustic Roots. The neighbours thanked them and sent them a card saying they were dropping the charges. Since then Doofer have won over many with their unique mix of A, B, C, D, E, F, and G. They have been described as having a chemistry which "can only be bought from a shady man on dark street corner." And this really shines through in their sparkly new album cheekily entitled Doofer. Recorded in the Wilds of South Wales in less time than it takes you to say Umbadinger thirteen songs you can sing and dance and have your end away to were miraculously conceived in almost the time it took to play them. Creating the bastard child of Tom Waits, Bob Dylan and some bird who's name they can't remember but they're sure she was important, Doofer produce the sort of music which is "not Zen like. It can only be defined by what it is."
