It just stuck..... "Naughty"....It came out of a time when for various financial and legal reasons we all lived together - sub letting and squatting and avoiding the Council Tax. We were bored of going to gigs, unsatisfied by moody anal musos who repeatedly failed to rock us. So we drunkenly made a pact, behaved badly and finally seized a memory that once rock was about attitude, energy and spontaneity. We picked up battered instruments, booked a room and bashed out three cord tricks ... until offered a gig and then scrambled for a name. There was always mischief and it seemed to strike a light. Naughty"out of the 90's into the 00's." Since that first gig at Clwb Ifor Bach we have scaled the heights of all the seedy scummy venues South Wales has to offer and even been abroad to England to play at the Extreme Sports Festival, Shepton Mallet and the Fools Fare, Oswestry. Larry Love of the Alabama 3 has said "nice" things about us and let us support him on short tours up the Valleys. They even put a review on the Alabama's web site. But the highlight to date was three nights in the USA, performing in New York City. The final night was in Arlene's in the Lower East Side, the home of the US punk scene of the 70's, and a live disc was cut. So who are we..? We've been a collective of more but always at the core are the four we are today. On drums and thumping production of all our recordings is Tommy Twisted. Bass belongs to the queen of sustortion, Aly Warped. Guitar and vocals Ga E. Bitter and the lead rant, Saxophone tooting and rhythm guitar bashing is that of Miss Meggie Lou Mayhem. These are, of course, pseudonyms to promote our serious side. |
